Hi Everybody, Sql Server 2005 SE installation problem

I faced the following problem while installing Sql Server 2005 SE

"Error 193 Installing .NET Framework 2.0" while installing Sql Server 2005

Please help me to proceed further

i have the same error. did you work around it?|||I am also having this problem. Has anyone else encountered this particular error?|||

Are there any log files created under:

%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG?

If so, you can start by looking at Summary.txt. It should give you some indication of which component failed. Then you should be able to delve into the specific log file of the failed component. If you'd like, zip up the LOG directory and send it to me and I'll have a look (jeff.papiez@.microsoft.com)

|||You can also try installing .NET Frameworks 2.0 directly by calling \Redist\2.0\dotnetfx.exe. This will give you the full UI installation of .NET Frameworks 2.0 which may have some better error messages.|||

Hi

This might sound stupid but i copied the "SQL Server x86" folder from the DVD onto my local hard drive and ran the "\SQL Server x86\Servers\setup.exe" from the hard drive copy to install the server components. Lo and behold everything worked fine.
